Knitted Tortoises and Trees?!
There is no way this can't brighten even the cloudiest of Mondays…
These fluffy delights are just adorable! We've all seen dogs with little coats but knitted sweaters for tortoises is, I think we can all agree, taking it to the next level. Kate Bradley is the creator of these masterpieces and has even make a business on Etsy crocheting these tortoise sweaters. I definitely recommend a look at her page:
It is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Whilst looking up these knitted delights, I came across knitted graffiti, which is something I had heard of briefly before and thought might be nice to share as well.
Also known as yarn bombing, guerrila knitting and urban knitting, it is a type of graffiti or street art that uses colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk.
It was initially about bringing a community or area back to life, reclaiming cold public places. Now it has spread around the world! Bringing colour and happiness to many, previously abandoned or unfriendly places.
It's creation is attributed to Magda Sayeg and if you have some extra time or are just feeling that little bit bored, take a look at her TED talk, it's worth a watch:
